Pause, then “Here, read it yourself”.
The Doctor reads Leo,
”You will meet the person of your dreams today, a tall dark stranger, who seems to be distracted, on a journey, but is very interesting”.
The Doctor then looks at Dave for a moment.
“Dave, this is not what I read on the train, just before all those people died”.
“It’s what I wrote”. However, its weird, but Fred Simpson, the sports reporter, had this habit of reading the stars out in the morning. When he got to Leo, I didn’t recognize the words, and then, then he got to the last words. You know, today is the day you die. I felt a chill, and then 5 people, 5 friends, just collapsed and died”.
“Why, Doctor, why did that happen?”
“I don’t know, I don’t know. But I will find out, and I will stop it happening to anyone else. But Dave, to do that I’m going to need your help.”
Dave “Why me, I don’t understand.”
“I don’t either Dave, but I put you here for a reason. Guess we should find out why.”
“Hang on, I didn’t read it either. The girl on the train read it out aloud. The same words, today is the day you die. (the Doctor's thought appear to drift) The girl on the train, I don’t even know her name”.
Pause, silence. They both look out the window. Not at anything in particular, but we know they are seeing the horrors of today again, replaying them in their minds eye. As for anyone who has seen horror, it is something they will replay many times.
We return to the Doctor. Clearly his thoughts have returned to the problem at hand.
“Dave, it isn’t the words you wrote. This is some sought of reverse desire thought transference (Dave looks a little confused). Essentially a form a mass hypnosis. Someone, or someone, managed to trick people into reading, not your words, and not what they wanted to read, but the last thing they wanted to read.”
“No one wants to read a horoscope that tells them they are about to die, that today is the day you are going to die”. The shock of reading that would normally be just that, shock. Some might die, the weak, the ill, the weird. But most wouldn't. Most would simply just have a bad day."
"No, this was combined with something big and powerful. Something that generated emotional acceleration of the kind that would be enough to cause people to simply scare themselves to death. The terror of reading those words, today is the day you die, would cause them to shut down, shut down completely." "Extraordinary, I've never seen anthing quite like this."
Dave "I have to say it is completely new to me as well."
Doctor "That only leaves four very important questions to answer”.
Dave “And what are they?”
Doctor “Who, what and why?”
Dave “You know that’s only three?”
Doctor “And, which star sign is next?”

Dr Who - The Age of Aquarius - Scene 6
He starts running to the corner office, then slows to a walk, then stops.
This guy won’t know anything, how could he. He’s just been the vehicle for someone, something else. Probably didn’t even know it was happening, and now can’t work out why it happened, and why to him. Poor bugger.
Still, have to ask, can’t be left wondering.
“Right, let’s do it.” With that the doctor is off, running again.
He reaches the office, the one in the corner, and pokes his head around the corner. The Doctor thinks about bellowing something, like all good editors apparently do. But, it’s probably not the time for that.
“Go way.”
“What?”, apparently to no one, however, the Doctor knows he is talking to Dave, Dave Harris, or Madam Astral.
“C’mon Dave, I'm here to help.”
“I don’t want to talk to anyone, not a soul.”
“Not me, not me Dave, you want to talk to me, I'm here to help. Let me introduce myself, I’m the Doctor.”
“The Doctor.” Pause. “I never thought I would see you again, kind of hoped I hadn’t seen you the first time.”
Doctor “Do we know each other? Come out and let me see you.”
The Doctor watches with greater interest, he hadn’t expected this. He didn’t remember anyone called Dave Harris, still ……
Dave comes out from under the desk “It is you, but, I don’t know, I would have thought you’d have aged a little, it was 30 odd years ago.”
Doctor "We met 30 years ago, here?” The Doctor thought about this, knowing, that in reality, at least in Doctor reality, it could have been anytime.”
“No not here, at University. I had no idea what I wanted to do, and some how we met, you suggested I work here, and for some reason I went along with it. I still can’t work out why, it just seemed right. I sought of liked the work, well I did, until now, then this. I could have done something else, but the desire to stay was stronger than the one to leave. Odd, isn’t it.”
Doctor “Yeh, it is odd.” The doctor still had no idea what Dave was on about, that meant he had two problems to deal with. Onto the biggest one first.
“Dave, tell me about the horoscope you wrote.”

Dr Who - The Age of Aquarius - Scene 5
The Doctor climbs the stairs, then enters the only door he sees on the second landing.
"Oh dear."
All he can see is a ocean of partitions, then he sees one person typing madly away at a computer.
"Hi, can you tell me where I could find Dave."
The man looks up, pauses, then "Who's looking?"
The Doctor answers, while simultaneously continuing to survey the office, "John Smith, his solicitor."
"Solicitor?. You look more like one of those celebrity chefs."
Doctor "What?"
"Like on the telly, you know, splash, flash and how's yur Muvver, guv."
Doctor " Fuvver."
Man "What?"
Doctor "Inn't it Fuvver? How's your Fuvver?"
Pause, while both men ponder.
Starting to get uncomfortable the Doctor asks "So where's Dave?"
"Over there, corner office."

DR Who - The Age of Aquarius, Scene 4
The Doctor looks at the lift, thinks to himself, nah, "don't like lifts much", and goes for the stairs. Running, not walking, as is his way.
"Hey, you can't go up there". That came from a Security Guard, also running, but carrying kilos. Breathlessly he runs up to the Doctor. He is about to say something, but can't really breathe. The Doctor watches him, puzzling over what he may say.
To break the moment, and to possibly save the security guard's life, the Doctor shows him the psychic paper.
After a few more breaths, the security guard relaxes "Oh, you're also security".
Then the receptionist calls out, to help. "It's OK, he's Dave's solicitor".
Doctor "I told her, but she didn't listen, and she can't spell". Holds up psychic paper again.
Security Guard " And don't we all know it, off you go".

Dr Who - The Age of Aquarius, Scene 3
The Doctor looks at the paper. It was the same one used by the Master, during his rein as Prime Minister, to tell his lies. Didn’t like it then, doesn’t like it now. However, he couldn’t believe the paper was responsible for what just happened. This wasn’t the work of mortals.
He had nothing else to go on, no where else to start, except the offices of the London Herald, and to the point, Madam Astral, the writer of the horoscopes.
The girl in reception laughed. “It’s truly amazing how many people believe Madam Astral actually exists”.
Doctor “Who writes it then?
Girl “Just about everyone in the building, at one time or another. I think yesterday’s was Dave Harris, entertainment editor”.
Doctor “I need to see him, where is he.”
Girl “Hiding I expect, he’s nervy at the best of times, this will probably finish him”.
Doctor “I’m different, I’m here to help”.
Shows the girl the psychic paper.
Girl” Oh, you’re a solicitor. He’s going to need you. Here’s a pass, he’s on the second floor”.

Dr Who, the Age of Aquarius, Scene 2
The doctor looks in every direction; the picture seems to get worse the further he looks.
It had been silent, until now. Then noise starts, first in the distance, then closer. The noise gains in intensity within seconds. It is recognisable, but confused. It is the sound of fear, grief, panic and the urgent cry for help.
The Doctor answers the first cry for help. It is the woman standing next to him, pleading with the crowd, the survivors, for someone to help her.
He takes her in his arms and slowly calms her.
Woman: "What happened? We were just talking, and then he collapsed."
Doctor: "I don’t know."
Woman: "Can you help him?"
The Doctor looks at her; she instantly recognises that he can’t. She bends down to hold the man on the ground. She is inconsolable.
The Doctor notices that the man is holding a newspaper. This man was also reading the horoscopes; the paper is open at that page, folded so that the horoscope was clearly the item being read.
The Doctor looks at the broader scene again; all the bodies are holding the same newspaper, folded to the same page. He picks up one and walks away, but not really away. There is no where to escape what has just happened.

Dr Who - The Age of Aquarius
Scene 1: London Underground. Dr Who boards the train, on a typical London working day
Girl “Oh, you are cute.”
Dr Smiles
Girl “Where are you off to?”
Dr “To visit the Queen.”
Girl “A, or the?”
Pause, smiles.
Girl “I bet you’re a Leo. I’m a Leo too. How about I read our stars, see what’s in store.”
“The moon will soon be in the seventh house, and Jupiter will align with Mars. The Age of Aquarius will soon dawn.
Before that can happen you must die. Today is the day you die.”
The girl collapses. The Doctor tries to help, it is then that he notices that one in twelve people on the train has collapsed. He rushes out of the train, the same picture, one in twelve have collapsed. He runs out of the station, the same, on an every increasing scale. One in twelve dead.
